The beloved, hyped Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout arrives in New York City this week. The Imperial Stout, which includes generous amounts of coffee and chocolate, is cave-aged in bourbon barrels for a year, and weighs in at a cellaring-friendly 11.2% ABV.
We know that Malt & Mold (221 East Broadway, at Clinton St., Lower East Side), Astoria Bier & Cheese (34-14 Broadway, at 35th St., Astoria), ABC Beer Co. (96 Avenue C, at 6th St., East Village), and Top Hops Beer Shop (94 Orchard St., at Broome St., Lower East Side) have already put it out on shelves (and it’s going fast), and that Good Beer (422 E. 9th St., btw. 1st Ave. and Ave. A, East Village) will release it for sale tomorrow at noon.
Expect quantity limits on the 12-ounce bottles of this rare beer, as we’ve heard the supply is limited as usual. Plus, this beer is hugely popular, so even with those limits, you may have to call or visit a couple of places to find it.
